Book : Art Fundamentals

Book : Art Fundamentals

Today we feature “Art Fundamentals“, a great book published by 3DTotal. As its name suggests, this book presents the fundamentals concepts of illustration.

The first part develops these concepts in a very meticulous way with many examples and explanations from renown professional artists. 28 pages are dedicated to colors and lighting, 30 to composition, 26 to perspective and depth of field and finally 76 about anatomy.

In the second part of this 272 pages book, you’ll find a very complete reference gallery where each work is a brilliant demonstrations of the techniques presented before. The illustrations are associated to a short but precise short text including the number of the page you have to refer to to fully understand the process used for the work. The last sixties page are a gallery of impressive illustrations with comments from their author.

We really love Art Fundamentals. As usual with 3DTotal, the book is particularly interesting. The explanations are detailed, the layout is excellent and the quality of paper really good. We especially appreciate the selection of works and the fact that some of these are displayed in full-page, even full double-page sometimes. The book clearly deserves the 35 euros asked.
