Short Animation Film #84 : La Maison en petits cubes
Today we feature a touching short-film. Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in 2009, La Maison en petits cubes is the story of an old man who is decided to stay in his house despite the the fact that his town is more and more flooded by water. He prefers to build new levels rather than moving to another place because all his memories are here. Beyond this well narrated story, there is an totally amazing graphical and audio part. The drawings are beautiful and the musics are from Koji Kondo, main composer at Nintendo. La Maison en petits cubes was directed by Kunio Kato.
Mat Miller is an English illustrator based in Bristol and currently working freelance. This young artist has a very interesting style which mixes traditional and digital techniques.
Mlle Hipolyte is a French artist specialized in illustration and paper design. She notably created a very colorful and detailed set of animals with tiny pieces of paper.
